Club meeting roles
Clubs are run by members for members. There are no instructors so members receive opportunity to gain valuable experience as meeting planners, organisers, Master of Ceremonies, and support roles.
Club leadership roles
Members receive opportunities to lead at and beyond club-level. Each role carries with it a different set of challenges and skills to learn. These include Club President, Event Planners, Contest Organisers, District Officers, Training Presenters and much more.
Peer support
Toastmasters provides a friendly and supportive environment. All members receive equal opportunities to speak, evaluate and lead. If you need help, every member is available to offer advice, guidance or mentoring.
Pathways programme
Pathways is Toastmasters’ online learning experience, offering 11 unique paths that support your growth beyond the club environment. Each path includes a mix of required and elective projects, designed to complement the practical experience you gain during club meetings.
Advanced learning
Opportunities exist to compete in four speech contests each year. Plus to attend training and educational sessions at area, division and District level on many topics related to public speaking and leadership. There are also opportunities to gain experience at higher levels leading small and large teams. The highest accolades are that of Distinguished Toastmaster and Accredited Speaker depending on where your goals lie. New Zealand have developed two World Champions of Public Speaking and two International Presidents of Toastmasters.
